Stephen Amell may be fudging the timeline of his bout with COVID

Insiders say there may be more to the story of Stephen Amell’s bout with COVID than he’s letting on.

The “Arrow” star said on a podcast that he had “no idea” where he got the virus, which he said left him soaked in a cold sweat. But sources close to the star say that the party he threw for his wife’s birthday this month might be a good place to start.

“He hosted a … birthday party in Palm Springs,” said a source, although the added that it’s not clear if that’s where Amell got it, if he had the disease during the party or if he got it after.

“I’ve always been really good about mask-wearing, about social distancing, just following the rules, not going to a huge house party or … large gatherings where people aren’t wearing masks,” he somewhat surprisingly said on the “Inside of You” podcast, when he revealed his diagnosis.

“But I also haven’t been totally afraid of it, which I know certain people are and certain people have the absolute right to be, whether you have a pre-existing condition or you’re elderly.”

We’re told that execs on his new Starz show, “Heels,” were annoyed when they learned about the bash — since his illness meant that they had to drastically rearrange the shooting schedule.

A rep for Starz told us, “The health and safety of all our employees, casts and crews remain our top priority. The protocols that were in place since the beginning of “Heels” production were effective in protecting the cast and crew, and we are happy that Stephen has fully recovered.”

They added, “Production continued seamlessly thanks to the tireless efforts of our team led by our wonderful showrunner Mike O’Malley and director Peter Segal.”
