Alicia Keys’ skincare routine includes essential oils, crystals and sulfur

Ahead of the launch of her lifestyle brand, Keys Soulcare, Alicia Keys is opening up about her own evening beauty routine.

Her company’s website went live on Tuesday with several stories and videos, including one of the 39-year-old Grammy winner — who’s famous for skipping makeup in favor of letting her skin shine through — walking fans through how she gets “unready” at the end of each day.

“For me, self-care is really important. Even if it’s just five minutes at the end of the day, I need it,” Keys began. “I actually love getting undone at night. It’s my time. I love taking the time to just bring it down.”

The “Girl on Fire” singer starts by changing into her “super comfy sweats,” wrapping her hair and sipping on a large mason jar filled with water before lighting candles and palo santo incense for a calming vibe.

Her skincare regimen starts with a face wipe to “get the day off,” followed by Osmosis Beauty Deep Clean Detox Cleanser ($39) — and believe it or not, Keys even struggles with acne.

“My skin wants to cause me trouble and break out so I always have to be thinking about that,” she explained. “We all struggle with keeping skin clear, and I am very familiar with that struggle.”

To combat breakouts, Keys spritzes on LIV by kNutek KLAR Therapeutic Toner ($32), which is infused with tea tree oil and honey, followed by Advanced SkinCare Advanced Anti-Blemish Lotion with Sulfur ($29) — the latter of which she admits smells “like a fart.”

“When you’re driving down the highway and you smell that egg smell and everybody in the car is like, ‘Who farted?’ That’s sulfur,” she said. “But whatever the case, sulfur is the bomb.”

To mask the “funky” scent, Keys slathers on Scottish Fine Soaps Au Lait Body Butter ($16.72), which she said “smells unbelievable,” before misting on her Sacred Rose Water ($25). “It’s not really for my face, it’s not really for my body, it’s just for everything,” she joked of the “gorgeous” product.

Then, it’s time for Modern Mystic Shop Third Eye Essential Oil Roll-On ($17), which Keys applies in between her eyebrows, on the insides of her wrists and behind her ears. “It’s really about bringing out your intuition, bringing out your inner voice,” she explained. “I am trying to be the most in-tune, in-touch individual, period!”

If it’s a night where Keys is “taking it all the way and really undoing and letting go,” she reaches for a Mama Medicine bath kit filled with flower petals, tea blends, selenite sticks, rose quartz crystals and more. “Each one has a ritual you could follow to clear your space,” she said.

Finally, it’s time to swipe some Smith’s Rosebud Salve ($7) on her lips and apply a bit of Epicuren Discovery X-Treme Cream ($43) — “We want the skin to be moisturized while I’m dreaming up my dreams,” Keys said — and a “mean cup of tea.”
