Kylie Jenner accused of captioning her photo ‘brown skinned girl’

Kylie Jenner is under fire for captioning a photo of herself “brown skinned girl,” but the star denies she ever wrote those words.
The 23-year-old makeup mogul posted a sexy snap of herself to Instagram on Sunday with the controversial caption before quickly editing the text to say “brown eyed girl,” according to screenshots captured by Twitter user @staliminaj.
Kylie’s initial caption didn’t go unnoticed. “We saw the original caption. Please show me where and how you are a ‘brown skinned girl’?? The audacity is repulsive,” one critic commented.
“Love how no one is talking about how Kylie Jenner’s white behind had the nerve to put ‘brown skinned girl’ as her caption after years of using black people and stealing black culture. Trashhhhhh,” a Twitter user said.
Another sarcastically added, “Brown skin girl [heart-eyed emojis] yes kylie work that brown skin [skull emojis] BYE ASF.”

She was also accused of being a “blackfisher,” a term describing someone on social media who is pretending to be black by changing their appearance by using makeup, editing, or even surgery.
But Jenner took to Instagram to say that she never made her caption “brown skinned girl” at all.

“Saw online someone photoshopped this photo I posted to change my caption ‘brown eyed girl’ to ‘brown skinned girl.’ I never said this,” she wrote on her Instagram story on Monday.
She furthered that the original caption was just a heart and star emoji which she changed to “brown eyed girl” a few minutes later.
“That is all,” she added.
The Kardashian-Jenner family has been accused of cultural appropriation in the past. Kylie’s sister Kendall Jenner was dragged for posing in Vogue with an Afro, and their half-sister Kim Kardashian has repeatedly been called out for wearing braids.
