The reason Jay Cutler reportedly scrubbed his Instagram account

No social media, no problems for Jay Cutler.

On Wednesday, fans noticed Cutler’s Instagram account had vanished hours after his estranged wife, Kristin Cavallari, shared an Instagram photo of herself cozying up to “Laguna Beach” ex Stephen Colletti. According to an insider, the former NFL quarterback, 37, was put on the hot seat as a result of the now-viral post.

“In the wake of the photo, Jay was getting a lot of heat on social media. He was over it and deleted his account,” a source told E! News on Wednesday.

Cutler and Cavallari, 33, announced their divorce in April after seven years of marriage. They share three children: sons Camden, 7, and Jaxon, 6, and 4-year-old daughter Saylor.

Prior to their split, Cavallari claimed she was behind the account, “IfJayHadInstagram,” back in 2018.

“So I think there needs to be a little clarification on Jays Instagram,” the Uncommon James founder said on her Instagram stories at the time, according to For the Win. “It’s not him running it. It’s me. It’s what Jay would have if he had Instagram.”

Following the breakup, Cutler had been keeping fans up to date on his happenings, notably the case of a “chicken serial killer” at his farm in June.

As for Cavallari, she returned to her California roots on Tuesday, when she reunited with former flame Colletti, 34.

“2004 or 2020?!” Cavallari captioned the shot from Laguna Beach, California.

Thrust into the spotlight in 2004, Cavallari was a main cast member on the MTV reality series for two seasons. The love triangle among Cavallari, Colletti and “Hills” alum Lauren Conrad was a prominent plot point.
