Photos of Johnny Depp’s alleged ‘headbutt’ attack on Amber Heard shown in court
Photos shown Thursday in a UK court depict the ugly aftermath of Johnny Depp’s alleged assaults on ex-wife Amber Heard — with the star accused of pulling her hair out and headbutting her in the face during one 2015 row.
Depp, 57, is accusing the UK’s Sun newspaper of libel over an April 2018 article branding him a “wife-beater” over his explosive relationship with Heard, 34.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has vehemently denied raising a hand to Heard in anger, instead accusing his “sociopathic” ex of being the abusive one.
Photos displayed Thursday in London’s High Court, however, purportedly show the aftermath of what Sun lawyer Sasha Wass has characterized as Depp’s booze- and drug-fueled outbursts.
One shot depicts a clump of hair, allegedly Heard’s blond locks ripped from her scalp by Depp during an alleged 2015 blowout in their Los Angeles penthouse.
“I will f–king kill you!” Depp was accused of screaming at his wife, allegedly dragging her around by her hair, headbutting her and grabbing her by the throat, the court heard Thursday, according to the Daily Mail.
The Academy Award nominee was also alleged to have punched Heard repeatedly during the attack — also allegedly striking her sister when she tried to intervene, the court heard.
Heard bore black eyes in another photo shown, but Depp deemed the account a “lie,” insisting that he acted in self-defense — while conceding he may have headbutted Heard, but that it was not “intentional,” according to the Mail.
Photos also show the California penthouse in a state of disarray after the alleged blow-up, including massive racks of clothing toppled onto the floor.
Pictures were additionally introduced depicting the aftermath of another infamous 2015 clash at a rented home in Australia, in which Depp claims Heard severed his finger with a thrown vodka bottle — and he used the resulting blood to smear “I love you” on a mirror.
In addition to the mirror itself, the court saw photos of a table in the house where Depp allegedly scrawled more unhinged ramblings.
“Why be a fraud?” reads the gold-colored scribbling. “All is such bulls–t.”
Over the course of what Heard described in a written statement as a “three-day ordeal of physical assault,” Depp allegedly tore off her nightgown, shoved her onto a ping-pong table and choked her against a fridge, forcing her to barricade herself in a bedroom.
Depp on Thursday conceded that the pair had a heated row — and that it was “possible” it was over his accusing Heard of infidelity — but again insisted that she was the violent one.
The Sun’s defense that its “wife-beater” report was not libelous relies on Heard’s allegations of 14 incidents of violence by Depp between 2013 and 2016.
