Eva LaRue has adopted her late ex-husband John Callahan’s dog following the soap star’s death last month.
“Welcome to the family Cali!,” the actress wrote on Instagram, posting a few selfies with her new four-legged friend.
She continued, “Wasn’t looking to add another thing that poops to the household, but she was John’s baby, and I know she’ll be just what God ordered to help us heal and vice versa.”
LaRue, 53, and Callahan, who tied the knot in 1996, famously played on-screen couple Maria Santos and Edmund Grey on “All My Children.” They split in 2005, four years after welcoming daughter Kaya.
Following news of Callahan’s death from an apparent stroke, several of the actor’s former co-stars, including Kelly Ripa and Sarah Michelle Gellar, posted tributes and offered condolences to his family. He was 66 years old.
