Chet Hanks insists Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are ‘fine’ amid coronavirus

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are doing just fine despite their coronavirus diagnoses.

The couple’s son, Chet Hanks, posted a video on Instagram reassuring his followers that his parents are “fine,” insisting they’re “not worried.”

“It’s true my parents got coronavirus. Crazy,” a shirtless 29-year-old Chet said in the video. “They’re both down in Australia right now because my dad was shooting a movie down there, but I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine. They’re not even that sick. They’re not worried about it.”

Chet added, “They’re not tripping, but they’re going through the necessary health precautions, obviously. But I don’t think it’s anything to be too worried about.”

He thanked fans for their concern and well wishes and reassured them again, saying, “I think it’s all gonna be alright.”

Wilson, for her part, took the coronavirus diagnosis as a chance to promote her music, quipping on her Instagram story, “Some music from my coronavirus vacation.”

The Oscar-winning actor, 63, and Wilson, 63, announced Wednesday that they tested positive for coronavirus.

“Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches,” Hanks said on social media.

“Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”

The Hollywood couple remains isolated in an Australian hospital as they continue to recover from COVID-19.

“We wish them a very speedy recovery,” Australian state Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk told reporters.
