Four Seasons trademark up for sale less than a year after shuttering

Want to spring for the Four Seasons?

Page Six has learned that the owners of the iconic restaurant — which, as we first reported, shuttered for good last summer — have put the brand up for sale.

A company called Hilco Streambank is running an auction of the Four Seasons trademark, its famous logo, domain name, social-media accounts and even the copyright to two cookbooks that it’s published over the years. It also owns the term “spa cuisine,” meaning healthy and seasonally appropriate food.

On Monday, Jack Hazan of Hilco Streambank wouldn’t offer an estimate for what the rights will go for, but did say, “We are entertaining offers from multiple potential interested parties.”

The original Four Seasons closed in 2018 after the building’s owner, Aby Rosen, declined to renew its lease, and it moved to a new venue on 49th Street. It remained open for just 10 months before closing in June 2019.

It’s not clear who exactly is selling the brand. Julian Niccolini and Alex von Bidder were the public face of the restaurant for many years, but there were a group of investors in the restaurant when it closed, according to the New York Times. The auction ends on Thursday.
