Harvey Weinstein accuser Ambra Gutierrez celebrates conviction outside court

The Italian model who accused Harvey Weinstein of groping her in 2015, only to see the Manhattan DA give him a pass on the allegation, showed up outside the courthouse Monday to celebrate the fallen film mogul’s conviction.

“I was jumping for joy,” Ambra Gutierrez told the media scrum outside Manhattan Supreme Court moments after the jury delivered its verdict against Weinstein. “This is really the outcome I was wishing for that failed in 2015.”

After Weinstein allegedly molested Gutierrez in his Tribeca office in 2015, she reported the assault. During a sting operation, the NYPD secretly recorded Weinstein apologizing to her and trying to lure her into his hotel room. But DA Cy Vance Jr. declined to prosecute the case, leading to a rift with the NYPD and public outrage over the decision.

A reporter asked Gutierrez on Monday whether the Manhattan DA had redeemed itself by securing a conviction against the onetime Hollywood star-maker.

“There is a lot to do still,” she said. “Things like this should never happen. … I would never want someone to suffer as I did.”

The seven-man, five-woman panel found Weinstein guilty of criminal sexual act for forcibly performing oral sex on former “Project Runway” production assistant Mimi Haleyi and raping aspiring actress Jessica Mann in 2013.

After five grueling days of deliberation, the jury acquitted Weinstein of the top two counts of predatory sexual assault involving “The Sopranos” TV actress Annabella Sciorra and the more serious rape charge related to Mann.

An ailing Weinstein was promptly handcuffed and taken into custody. He faces up to 29 years in prison when he’s sentenced March 11.
