Bernie Sanders: It ‘would be great’ for Cardi B to become a politician

Sen. Bernie Sanders is saying “okurrr” to the idea of Cardi B entering the political arena.

The 2020 Democratic hopeful showed nothing but enthusiasm for the idea of Cardi throwing a Louboutin into the ring in a statement to TMZ.

“Cardi B is deeply concerned about what’s happening in the country. She knows what it’s like to live in poverty and struggle, and it would be great for her to bring that experience to politics.”

The Vermont senator’s words of encouragement come after the “Money” rapper — who has tried to trademark her catchphrase “okurrr” —  hinted in a series of tweets that she may launch a congressional run at some point in the future.

“I think I want to be a politician. I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Goverment [sic],” the Grammy-winning artist tweeted Sunday.

Cardi’s interest in a political run was heightened amid rising tensions between the US and Iran.

“Like I was watching War documentaries. No matter how many weapons a country have you need people ! How are you trying to go against a country and possibly start a war when this country lacks patriotism? I barely see people claiming they LOVE being American,” the artist, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, wrote in another tweet.

“I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress. I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense. I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table,” she wrote.

The politically active hitmaker has long identified as a Democrat and has been public on her feelings about President Trump.

The “I Like It” rapper endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) in the 2020 Democratic primary last summer and filmed a promotional video for his campaign with the Vermont senator himself.
