‘Silence of the Lambs’ TV series heading to CBS

CBS is bringing “Silence of the Lambs” to the small screen with a TV series called “Clarice.”

The show will be based on the blockbuster’s character Clarice Starling (played by Jodie Foster), and will be set one year after “Silence of the Lambs.”

The show’s expected to provide a plum role for a yet-to-be-determined Hollywood actress as its lead.

Deadline reported that the Hannibal Lecter character will not be featured in the project, which has “received a big series commitment” from the network.

The show was created by writers and producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet.
