DaBaby joins starry Sports Illustrated Super Bowl bash

DaBaby will perform at Sports Illustrated’s Super Bowl party the night before the big game, Page Six has exclusively learned. The rapper’s joining a Sports Illustrated lineup at the Fontainebleau that already includes the Black Eyed Peas and Marshmello.

DaBaby — who’s reportedly also playing a couple other events over Super Bowl weekend — joins a raft of big stars who’ve booked gigs this year as Miami attracts top talent. Performers playing parties and concerts will also include Lady Gaga, Guns N’ Roses,  Maroon 5, Diddy, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Rick Ross, the Chainsmokers and Pitbull, among others. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are playing the game’s halftime show.

A source said of the Sports Illustrated bash on Feb. 1: “There have been table purchases of groups of 30 or more… other cities have had groups of 15. But Miami has a mix of wealthy, international people that normally don’t go to Super Bowls.”

The SI event’s being organized by Talent Resources Sports’ Michael Heller and David Spencer — who’ve teamed with Matthew Gavin and Frank Catrambone as Undisputed Group — along with Miami nightlife guru Dave Grutman, and Authentic Brands Group, which bought Sports Illustrated last year as well as Barneys New York. Casamigos is a partner as well.

DaBaby has made headlines recently for more than just his music: He was allegedly involved in a scuffle with a Miami promoter over non-payment for a Florida event, was detained in North Carolina for alleged misdemeanor marijuana possession and was involved in an alleged fight with a worker at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport.

Charges were reportedly dropped against him in the airport incident. But he said in a statement via Instagram after a brief Miami jail stay on a battery charge this month: “Please stop talking to me about that weak ass 48 hours I spent in jail and that failed attempt to break my spirits & interrupt the path I’m taking to my God given success.”
