‘Bachelor in Paradise’ star Dean Unglert undergoes surgery after ski accident

“Bachelor in Paradise” star Dean Unglert has to spend Christmas in the hospital after undergoing surgery following a skiing accident in Switzerland.

“All my life i’ve dreamt about skiing the swiss alps. how could you not? they’re huge and beautiful and have some of the best snow in the world,” Unglert, 26, wrote on Instagram on Monday with a hospital selfie. “Today, however, was not my day. i was sending just a liiiiitle too hard and took a nasty spill which ultimately put me here [in the hospital]. and since this is probably going to be the only pic i get in switzerland, i figured i gotta post it.”

Doctors put three screws and a plate into Unglert’s leg after he dislocated his hip and fractured his femur. He later tweeted he will need 12 weeks to recover.

The reality star said that thanks to first responders, his injuries were tended to swiftly and he is now on the mend.

“The swiss mountain rescue blew my mind today,” he wrote. “It took me about an hour to flag someone down for help but once i did, i was airborne and in surgery in less than an hour.

“Things could have been so much worse and for that i am extremely grateful!” he said, adding, “Looks like i’ll be celebrating xmas in a hospital bed this year 😂.”

Unglert is currently dating “Bachelor in Paradise” personality Caelynn Miller-Keyes, who posted an old photo of the couple to her Instagram story and wrote, “I just want to squeeze you so bad.”
