Sally Field arrested during climate change protest on Capitol Hill

Actress Sally Field was arrested at Jane Fonda‘s weekly climate protest in front of the US Capitol in Washington, DC, on Friday, a report said.

The “Forrest Gump” actress, along with 26 other demonstrators, was put in plastic cuffs by US Capitol Police for taking part in Fonda’s protests, dubbed “Fire Drill Fridays,” CNN reported.

In an impromptu speech at the demonstration, Field said “the time is now” to act on climate change, according to the video shared on the group’s Twitter feed.

“We can not sit back in our comfort zones, on our couches, and wonder what can we do?” she said.

“We can get out. We can do something — in the rain, whatever it takes,” she added.

Friday’s demonstration was the 10th consecutive weekly protest organized by Fonda.
