Swiss entrepreneurs throw elaborate launch party for as-yet-unnamed product

A pair of sisters threw what may be the most elaborate launch party of the year, re-creating Studio 54 at the top of One World Trade Center — but they don’t even have a name for the product they’re launching.

Swiss entrepreneurs Haleh and Golnar Abivardi sent out hundreds of Studio 54-themed snowglobes as invitations and even flew in Boy George to give a surprise performance. But when we asked what, exactly, the bash was for, we were told that they are still working on a title for their line of “environmental & socially responsible beauty products,” launching in the United States in 2020.

Among those celebrating whatever it might be were nightlife vets Amanda Lepore, Kenny Kenny, Connie Fleming, Kyle Farmery, Miss Jay Alexander and Jonte’ Moaning, who donned 1970s outfits and boogied down to disco. The famous sculpture of a moon with a spoon in its mouth, which hung in Studio 54, was replaced with a toothbrush as a nod to the Abivardi sisters’ dental-care brand. The night ended with Boy George’s concert.
