Dana Delany flies next to, tweets about laid-off Condé Nast employee

“Desperate Housewives” actress Dana Delany tweeted that her plane was delayed on Wednesday to let a “sobbing” passenger off who had just been fired over text from Condé Nast.

“[Were] there mass firings at Condé Nast today? My JetBlue flight is delaying takeoff so a sobbing woman could get off after getting fired via text. And get her luggage,” she wrote. “The black hearts sitting behind me say ‘Suck it up.’ The very nice [flight attendant] suggested applying at JetBlue. Jeez.”

It was reported this week that Oren Katzeff, the president at Condé Nast Entertainment, slashed jobs at an in-house video production unit. According to an internal memo from Katzeff, WWD reported, the job cuts were an effort to organize the division “in such a way that sets us up for success.”

It’s not known where Delany’s flight was headed. Although her followers were furious, Page Six is reliably informed that no Condé employee was fired by text — or e-mail. A source said: “This would never be the way this kind of news would be imparted by HR to an employee.”

Condé Nast declined to comment, and Delany was unavailable for comment.
