‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ the toast of San Francisco

The San Francisco opening of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” at the Curran Theatre was fêted around the Bay Area — including a surprise reopening of Tosca Cafe.

The local hot spot was shuttered this past summer after owner April Bloomfield closed its doors following her split from partner Ken Friedman. But the eatery came back for a dinner party hosted by producers Colin Callender and Sonia Friedman, with Vanessa Getty.

Curran owner Carole Shorenstein Hays hosted her own crowd across the street from her storied theater, at David’s Delicatessen.

Later, guests including Lars Ulrich, Amy Tan, Marilu Henner and Chris Isaak converged on August Hall for a giant afterparty.
