Amanda Bynes emerges on Instagram with ‘geisha girl vibes’ photo

Amanda Bynes has posted on Instagram for the first time in nearly three months.
The former Nickelodeon actress, 33, shared a selfie showing off her ice-blue hair and captioned it, “Geisha girl vibes 💌.”
Bynes turned off commenting on her photo, so it’s unclear if followers took offense to her referencing the Japanese performers who were known for their powdered makeup, known as oshiroi. In April, Rihanna pulled a face product from her Fenty Beauty Line called “Geisha Chic” after outraged fans said the red color and name fetishizes Japanese culture.
Bynes rejoined Instagram on Sept. 10, 2019, after a tumultuous relationship with social media.
The “All That” alum’s page features mostly selfies that show off her various hair colors, including pink and platinum blond. The recent graduate of California’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising hasn’t posted on Twitter since September, when she announced she had launched a new account on the picture-sharing platform.
