Donny and Marie Osmond perform final Las Vegas residency show through tears

Donny and Marie Osmond ended their Las Vegas residency in a reliably Donny & Marie fashion, capping their 11-year-run with tears, a sold-out show and their signature hit, “May Tomorrow Be a Perfect Day.”

“Well we made it over the finish line and I only limped a little!!,” Marie, 60, wrote on Instagram. “Last night as ‘Donny and Marie’ we sang together again but this time was for the last time. I’m not losing him, we are, after all, still brother and sister and I’ll see him at Christmas.”

“Change is a good reminder that it’s the only thing in life that IS consistent,” she added. “But this is one of those times when it isn’t easy to move forward without tears.”

Donny’s own farewell post on Instagram tallied the numbers behind the brother-sister duo’s residency: “After 11 years and 1,730 shows, we just concluded the final performance.”

The Osmonds’ residency started in September 2008, on a six-week contract, with shows continually being added and extending the run.

Reflecting on their decision to finally end it, Donny, 61, told “Entertainment Tonight” in April that, “There’s so many projects we want to do individually. She’s got her career, I’ve got my career … We had no idea it would be 11 years.” In May, it was announced that Marie would become a co-host on CBS’ “The Talk.”
