Audience member’s Playboy story enlivens ‘Freestyle Love Supreme’

While the work onstage at Lin-Manuel Miranda’s improvised musical “Freestyle Love Supreme” was electrifying, we’re told that it was almost overshadowed over the weekend by an audience member’s jaw-dropping contribution.

The crowd was asked to share experiences they regret so that the cast could riff off them, and while most shared pretty pedestrian anecdotes, one woman “told a story from the 1970s [about a man who] repeatedly asked her for her photo,” a spy said.

“She told him no, but he snapped it anyway and her face [showed up] in Playboy on a different body. Her fiancé discovered it.”

We’re told others in the crowd momentarily lost focus on the show and asked the woman follow-up questions.

The cast, including guest stars Wayne Brady and “Hamilton’s” Daveed Diggs, “turned it into a hilarious rap, joking the woman invented Photoshop.”
