No “Downton Abbey” star was ever too famous for a cast meal.
As series regular Laura Carmichael revealed in the October issue of Town & Country, “There was never a day when we didn’t have lunch together.”
Carmichael, 33, who played Lady Edith Crawley on the PBS drama for six seasons, returned for the upcoming feature film, along with Michelle Dockery, best known for her role as Lady Mary Crawley.

“When we came back to filming, it felt the same,” Dockery said. “It was like just going back to work, seeing your mates.”
Two years after the series ended in 2015, Dockery recalled how a “Downton” special, hosted by co-star Allen Leech, who portrayed former chauffeur Tom Branson, tugged at the heartstrings.
“I watched the whole thing and I was sobbing,” the 37-year-old actress said of the “I Miss Downton Abbey!” program.
Yearning to “go back and do a film,” Dockery — not to mention the show’s international fanbase — got their wish as news of a “Downton” movie emerged in June 2017.
“Downton Abbey” hits theaters Friday, Sept. 20.
