Miley Cyrus will sacrifice high fashion for her art.
On Friday, the singer, 26, released a new music video for her breakup single “Slide Away” in which she floats in a pool fully clothed among abandoned chairs and bottles.
But Cyrus isn’t wearing a bathing suit to take a dip; instead, she opts for a gold vintage Versace chainmail dress. A similar style from the same era, designed by Gianni Versace in 1994, retails on 1stdibs for $50,000.
The former “Hannah Montana” star’s song addresses the end of her relationship with estranged husband Liam Hemsworth. With lyrics like “Once upon a time, it was made for us / Woke up one day, it had turned to dust / Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost / So it’s time to let it go” and the party visuals, Cyrus hints that her relationship with Hemsworth ended because of his partying ways.
The singer has since moved on very publicly with Brody Jenner ex Kaitlynn Carter.
