Courtney Love wants her daughter’s ex to come as he is … to a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation.
Isaiah Silva, the ex-husband of Love’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain, is set to undergo a psychiatric evaluation Tuesday in a Southern California facility, according to TMZ.
It’s part of a complicated legal battle between Love, 55, Frances, 26, and Silva, 34, over an acoustic guitar the late Kurt Cobain played on Nirvana’s appearance on “MTV: Unplugged.”
The guitar wound up in Silva’s possession as part of his divorce settlement with Frances, and last May, Silva filed a lawsuit against Love, her manager Sam Lutfi, “13 Reasons Why” actor Ross Butler, private investigator John Nazarian, musician Michael Schenk and others, whom he alleged were conspiring to kill him and regain the iconic 1959 Martin D-18Ez.
Love and Frances prepared for a lengthy legal battle to defend themselves from Silva. “Kurt would not want this and Courtney will not allow any of it,” a family source told Page Six at the time. “Frances and the family are prepared to fight with a fury of unprecedented legal force and they will prevail.”
The psychiatric evaluation appears to be the first attempt by the defendants to prove that Silva is not of sound mind. The same source said last year that Silva harbors a “frightening obsession” with Kurt, and may even believe he is “a reincarnation of Kurt,” “tries to look like him and dress like him.”
The session will be recorded and the notes made available as part of the ongoing lawsuit.
