Cardi B put on her best face to meet with Bernie Sanders.
The politically involved rapper, 26, finally got to sit down with her favorite presidential candidate on Monday. For the occasion, Cardi wore a teal Fendi shirtdress ($5,100) with a matching Fendi bag ($3,700). She paired the silk organza dress with ladylike pastel pumps.
It appears that Cardi B questioned Sanders about his policies for a video geared toward her fans and young voters.
“A couple of weeks ago I asked my followers if you had the opportunity to have a question answered by a Democratic candidate what would it be? I got a lot of submission[s] and selected the most popular questions to get answered,” Cardi captioned an Instagram picture with the Vermont senator.
“Stay tuned to see how he will fight for economic, racial, and social justice for all. Together, let’s build a movement of young people to transform this country. LETS LEARN OUR CANDIDATES!”
The meet-up comes two weeks after the “I Like It” hitmaker praised Sanders on Twitter — “I been reading about Bernie Sanders and I’m really sad how we let him down in 2016. This man been fighting for equal rights, HUMAN rights for such along time,” she said — and one week after Sanders returned the compliments in an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Cardi also said she would like to sit down with more presidential candidates and ask “questions that my followers would like to know.”
It’s unclear what Sanders thought about the price tag on Cardi’s expensive look.
