Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux mourn death of dog Dolly

Jennifer Aniston and ex Justin Theroux appeared to reunite over the weekend to bid farewell to their dog Dolly, who passed away on Sunday.

“Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle… our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield. She was surrounded by her entire family,” Theroux, 47, wrote on Instagram.

“‘The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful… is the dog— faithful and true, even in death,'” the “Leftovers” star continued, roughly quoting late US Senator George Graham Vest. “Rest In Peace Dolly. #adoptdontshop #rescuedog.”

Theroux posted a series of snapshots from the memorial, which showed the pooch surrounded by colorful flower petals. The “Maniac” star also fueled speculation that he held Aniston’s hand during the ceremony, as one image showed his hand holding one with manicured nails.

Following Theroux’s emotional post, several friends of the former couple offered their condolences.

“We love you dolly 💔💔,” Aniston’s BFF Courteney Cox replied.

“Awwww I’m so sorry Justin,” Amy Sedaris penned.

“💔🖤💔🖤💔🖤rip beauty,” Orlando Bloom wrote.

Aniston, 50, who split from Theroux last February after two-and-a-half years of marriage, previously revealed she had named Dolly after Dolly Parton. Dolly reportedly played a part in Aniston and Theroux’s 2015 wedding.
