Why Kristen Bell was hesitant to do ‘Veronica Mars’ reboot

SAN DIEGO — With two young kids at home, Kristen Bell wasn’t sure she was going to come back to “Veronica Mars.”

“I’ve never hidden that this show is a beast to shoot,” she told the crowd at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday. “It’s really hard. It’s really long hours. It’s really intense. I was hesitant to do that with two really young kids.”

She continued, “I had to make the decision of: Am I going to miss six months of bedtimes to put this girl back into our world?”

Ultimately, the choice was easy.

“It was a hard decision at first, but then I was like, ‘No, you have to. You have to have this character, this superhero without a cape out there as an example for your children,'” she said as the crowd burst into applause.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are parents to 6-year-old Lincoln and 4-year-old Delta. They’ve been married since 2013.

News that Hulu had picked up the iconic series’ revival broke in September.

Hulu also surprised the audience during the panel, revealing it was dropping Season 4 of “Veronica Mars” on Friday, a week ahead of the scheduled release.
