Hunter Biden and Melissa Cohen spotted at Joe’s 2020 fundraiser

Newlywed Hunter Biden and his wife joined Joe Biden at a campaign fundraiser in California on Friday — weeks after the younger Biden’s turbulent personal life drew national attention and questions about whether it would jeopardize his father’s shot at the presidency.

It was the first appearance the pair have made on the campaign trail with his father, campaign sources said.

Hunter and his wife, Melissa Cohen, attended the afternoon fundraiser attended by dozens of donors at Pasadena city councilmember John J. Kennedy’s house in the southern California city.

The pair was introduced to the crowd by Kennedy, who has known Joe Biden for 25 years, after the former vice president spoke for about 20 minutes about racism in the US and the Trump presidency.

They were brought to the front of the room to be recognized, but did not speak.

Hunter and Cohen were wed in May in a sudden secret wedding just 10 days after meeting each other, The Post reported last month.

Their union came a month after Hunter split from Hallie Biden, his late brother Beau’s widow, which was exclusively reported by Page Six. The couple linked up in 2017 following Beau’s death from brain cancer in May 2015 at age 46.

Hunter has also struggled with drug and alcohol abuse — a tumultuous personal life that was the subject of a recent wide-ranging profile in the New Yorker magazine. Hunter lamented his personal life getting in the way of his relationship with his father during the 2020 presidential campaign.

Hunter recalled to the New Yorker how he and Beau previously campaigned voraciously for his father but that he’d skipped a 2020 rally in Philadelphia because of his personal issues.

“We went everywhere with him. At every single major event and every small event that had to do with his political career, I was there. I’ve never missed a rally for my dad. The notion that I’m not standing next to him in Philadelphia, next to the Rocky statue, it’s heartbreaking for me. It’s killing me and it’s killing him. Dad says, ‘Be here.’ Mom says, ‘Be here.’ But at what cost?”
