Alex Rodriguez joined fiancée Jennifer Lopez for a “Hustlers” homework assignment.
Ahead of the film’s Sept. 13 release, writer-director Lorene Scafaria revealed to Vulture that Lopez prepared for the role of professional dancer Ramona by venturing to a strip club with her future husband.
“She and Alex went and visited a strip club, and she was able to give me some … insights,” Scafaria said.
Lopez, 49, who announced her engagement to Rodriguez, 43, in March, also worked hard to get her body into prime shape.
“She’s obviously such an unbelievable dancer, but she trained so hardcore for this,” Scafaria said. “Pole dancing is not like anything else. It required muscles you don’t know you have. So we did treat it a little bit like a sports movie in that way.”
In addition to training, both Lopez and Rodriguez cut carbs and sugar as part of a 10-day challenge earlier this year.
“I work out a lot, I try to stay healthy but [my trainer] was like, ‘Let’s do something to move the needle,'” Lopez recalled on the “Ellen” show in February.
