Cameron Boyce’s dad announces charity in late Disney star’s honor

Cameron Boyce‘s legacy will live on.

On Monday, Victor Boyce, the father of the Disney Channel star who died at age 20 earlier this month, announced the creation of the Cameron Boyce Foundation in his son’s honor.

“Now is the time to make a change. Donate what you can. Encourage your friends and family to do the same. Let’s keep Cameron’s legacy alive and make a positive difference in the World,” Victor posted Monday on Instagram.

The foundation is set to provide “young people artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy for positive change in the world,” according to the charity’s website.

A preliminary report from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office last week indicated that Boyce’s death was the result of natural causes. The actor’s family previously confirmed the “Descendants” star died following an epileptic seizure.

“Cameron’s tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was epilepsy,” a spokesperson for the family said to E! News.

In the wake of Boyce’s death, Hollywood has continued to pay tribute to the actor, including Adam Sandler. The comedian, who appeared in the “Grown Ups” films with Boyce, helped to raise $15,000 for the Thirst Project, a charity Boyce worked closely with.
