Busy Philipps covers up leg injury with bedazzled bandage

Busy Philipps has an innovative solution to masking an injury.

The actress, 40, fell off a bike last week, scraping her knee and leaving a bloody cut. However, Philipps is still expected to attend high-profile events — and look good while doing so. So instead of covering up in a long dress or pants, the star and her stylist diligently secured Swarovski crystals to a huge Band-Aid.

Stylist Karla Welch — who also works with Justin Bieber, Tracee Ellis Ross and, most recently, Megan Rapinoe — chose a white embellished blazer dress ($600) and a pair of bedazzled bike shorts ($425) by Mach & Mach for Philipps’ appearance in Chicago, open wound be damned.

“She banged the f outta her knee and I didn’t want to change her look so that’s what we damn well did,” Welch captioned a photo of her client in the full bejeweled look.

Philipps commented, “So committed to the look! You didn’t even flinch!! 😂😂😂” while Rapinoe, who just helped the US women’s soccer team win the World Cup, said she “needs seven” for her shins.

Busy isn’t the only celeb to dress up her medical device; Mariah Carey bought a high-fashion arm sling when she dislocated her shoulder back in 2013, and Demi Lovato has also adorned her surgical boot with studs and crystals in the past as well.

Philipps called the new accessory “genius” on her Instagram Stories, and said she never wanted to take it off. The talk show host even posted that she was buying more Band-Aids, so perhaps we can expect to see more bedazzled bandages as she heals.
