Meghan Markle wears $15K wedding earrings to Archie’s christening

When it comes to the women of Kensington Palace, jewelry is more than a mere accessory.

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are both known for honoring their family and sharing special messages with their jewelry and clothing choices, and baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor‘s christening was no different.

On Saturday, Markle, 37, and Prince Harry dressed Archie up in the same gown cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all wore on their baptism days to christen the newborn at a private chapel in Windsor Castle. For the occasion, the Duchess of Sussex wore a white Dior dress with a veiled fascinator, but it was her earrings that stole the show and tied two very important days of her life together.

Markle wore the same pair of diamond Galanterie de Cariter studs she sported on her wedding day in May 2018, which was also held in Windsor Castle.

This is hardly the first time Markle has used her jewelry to send subtle, sweet messages; just days before Archie’s christening, the new mom cheered on BFF Serena Williams at Wimbledon wearing a small “A” necklace in honor of her son.

And just last month, Meghan debuted a new diamond infinity ring that features the birthstones for Archie, Prince Harry and herself.

Not to be outdone, Kate Middleton also chose some special jewelry for her first nephew’s christening, pairing her pink Stella McCartney dress and matching headband with Princess Diana‘s Collingwood pearl earrings, which the late Princess of Wales wore to Prince Harry’s christening in 1984.

Diana’s memory was further honored with the day’s official portrait, which includes her sisters Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and baby Archie were joined by Camilla Bowles, Prince Charles, Doria Ragland, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Prince William and Kate Middleton for the christening.
