Hugh Grant was briefly involved in Rome’s rubbish crisis when he quarreled with the head of a trash collection company.
He was walking down the street with wife Anna when the refuse honcho, Luisa Melara, who was filming a restaurant worker who she suspected was illegally dumping trash, stuck her foot out to block the couple’s path.
Video posted online gave the impression that Grant assumed she was a paparazzo trying to film him, and that he took her cellphone.
But Grant tweeted, “Sigh … Paps don’t have cell phones. And phone was not pointing at us. But she did stick her foot out very rudely in front of my wife who was passing in front of camera. I objected.”
