Ivana Trump’s ex Rossano Rubicondi unleashed his ire about her “garbage” children to Page Six after their breakup, declaring: “Don Jr. is an idiot. He’s a jerk.” While the Italian ex did not go into specifics, it appears the bad blood between him and Ivana’s heirs goes back to their 2008 wedding at Mar-a-Lago.
According to an article at the time by Ben Widdicombe, who attended, Don Jr. threatened Rubicondi in a toast. “We are a construction company, and we have job sites. We lose people,” Don Jr. said at the reception. “You better treat her right, because I have a .45 and a shovel.” Oddly, the speech also turned, according to the report, to his mother’s “great boobs.”
Widdicombe, now at Town & Country, recalled to us, “The Trump children were so angry at Rossano, I thought Don Jr. might shoot him right there at the reception. It was like a shotgun wedding in reverse.”
We reported that Ivana and Rubicondi — who divorced in 2009, only to reunite shortly after — split because their long-distance love just wasn’t working out. She told us of the breakup: “I am once again a single woman. I have the freedom to do what I want, with whomever I want to, and I can afford my lifestyle.”
