Zach Galifianakis once stole Justin Bieber’s underwear off the floor of his trailer.
On the most recent episode of David Letterman’s Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” Galifianakis said the undie heist took place after Bieber appeared on his wacky online talk show, “Between Two Ferns,” back in 2014 and Galifianakis had to shower in the pop star’s trailer after sliming himself on camera.
“I had to change clothes … I got into his trailer to get this stuff off of me. I didn’t have any underwear so I see a pair of underwear in the corner. I needed a pair of underwear … I put ’em on.”
While recalling the incident to Letterman, Galifianakis, 49, put his hand over his mouth while he tried to hold back laughter. Letterman, 72, sat across from him in disbelief.
“Then I started thinking about it. [On] a lot of levels it’s wrong,” the “Hangover” star said.
The two went back and forth debating whether the emergency of needing underwear trumped the “creepiness” and “desire” to take the pop star’s drawers.
“I took the underwear,” Galifianakis confessed. “Years pass, and I had taken the underwear with me … because I have nieces.”
“I’m sorry?” Letterman said with skepticism.
The episode ends with Galifianakis’s explanation of how he had saved 25-year-old Bieber’s underwear for years to gift to his nieces — though at least one of them had no interest.
“So, we walk up to my bedroom, my sister and my niece, and we go up, and I’m like, ‘Hey, I’ve been saving these for you.’ And the look on my niece’s face … She did not accept it. I tried — she was not into it at all.”
Galifianakis now knows if Justin Bieber prefers boxers or briefs.
