Storied Soho home of Visionaire magazine is up for sale

The storied Soho home of Visionaire magazine has quietly gone up for sale, sources exclusively told Page Six.

The gleaming ground-floor space at 11 Mercer St., in the style of its Soho-Cast Iron Historic District, with original columns, is 3,800 square feet with a 200-square-foot mezzanine plus 22-foot-high ceilings.

We hear the live-work or commercial space has a kitchen, two bathrooms and storage and laundry facilities.

Venerable Visionaire released the first issue of its synonymous mag in 1991, helmed by James Kaliardos, Cecilia Dean and Stephen Gan.

When the “three darlings of the Prada set” moved to Mercer Street in 1999, the New York Times wrote at the time, “a peril of their impressive new space . . . is the inevitable torrent of the fashionable who stop by to pay court,” including “models of astonishing beauty” and “Isabella Blow, the wildly eccentric stylist.”

Others who later visited included Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, David Bowie and Iman, Beyoncé, Cher, Karl Lagerfeld and Hedi Slimane.

Kaliardos said when reached for comment that he was “sad to leave” the space, but it was time.

“We were quite instrumental in developing the area,” he mused; it’s now home to fashion brands from Gucci to Alexander Wang.

Back in the day, Visionaire’s epic gatherings would transform into full-on block parties.
