Governors Ball does damage control after evacuation chaos

Governors Ball music festival is doing damage control after a chaotic evacuation Sunday that left fans claiming they were scared for their lives and stranded in severe weather.

“We aren’t going to sugarcoat things here. When you are evacuating tens of thousands of people from any site, it is a challenging endeavor . . . Your safety is always our number one priority,” organizers posted online Tuesday.

The music fest’s brass faced questions from angry concertgoers on Reddit.

There was a near-riot as organizers called off the show at 9:30 p.m. on Randalls Island due to bad weather before headliners The Strokes took the stage.

The fest promises it “will be reviewing this year’s events in great detail.”
