Governors Ball chaos left concertgoers ‘scared for their lives’

As the clouds clear after storms wrecked Sunday’s Governors Ball music festival, the full extent of the chaos on Randalls Island is coming to light.

We’re told there was a near-riot as organizers called off the show at 9:30 p.m. — before headliners The Strokes took the stage — and hordes of teenagers scrambled to get out.

One social media user claimed people were “legitimately scared for their lives.”

“People were jumping the fences and barricades and rushing the buses,” one attendee tells Page Six. “It got scary because people felt desperate.”

One person commented on social media, “My fav performance of gov ball is the crowd of ppl who knocked down this giant fence so we could get the f - - k off this island.”

One group got into a confrontation with security after the rowdy crowd started dismantling an art installation.

“Security staff pushed me to the floor near mud near the porta potties. And I got trampled with the ruckus of everyone being evacuated,” said one frazzled festival-goer on Instagram.

Festival organizers said everyone made it off the island without injury and that they “are actively reviewing all video from Sunday in order to assess our efforts and make any improvements necessary for the future.”
