Travis Barker’s health scares led to new Blink-182 music, tour with Lil Wayne

Travis Barker had a tumultuous 2018 with various health scares, but the Blink-182 drummer never stopped working.

A source told Page Six on Tuesday, on the heels of Blink-182’s announcement that the band will be touring with Lil Wayne, that the 42-year-old was always crafting new music.

“He was producing a ton of stuff, which led to the beats that essentially led to new Blink songs,” the source said.

Last year, Barker developed blood clots in his arms and then had to fight off a staph infection and cellulitis (a skin infection), forcing the punk rock band to cancel its Las Vegas residency.

Following his health woes, Barker’s car collided with a school bus. Fortunately, everyone, including his son, was OK.

Barker has since recuperated from his up-and-down year, though he still suffers from blood clots in his arms. Despite the clots, Barker is able to tour.

“He’s been cleared by his doctors to perform,” a rep for the rocker told Page Six.
