Meg Ryan’s son ‘couldn’t be happier’ for mom and John Mellencamp

John Mellencamp has Jack Quaid’s stamp of approval.

While chatting at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of his new movie “Plus One,” Meg Ryan‘s son said he’s “super excited” for his mom and her husband-to-be.

“I couldn’t be happier for both of them,” the 26-year-old said Sunday at the SVA Theater in Chelsea. “It’s amazing.”

The “You’ve Got Mail” actress, 57, and the rocker, 67, got engaged in November after years of dating on and off.

Jack, whose dad is actor Dennis Quaid, told us “of course” he’s a fan of Mellencamp’s music and has even tuned in to see his daughter Teddi Mellencamp on the “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

“I’ve seen a few episodes, she’s great,” said the “Hunger Games” actor.

Unlike his character in the movie, Ben, who links up with his best friend Alice (“PEN15” star Maya Erskine) as wedding dates, Quaid won’t be needing to find a plus-one for his mom’s nuptials. He’s dating actress Lizzy McGroder, who joined him on the carpet and at the afterparty held at Studio 525.

Erskine, who was chatting alongside Jack on the red carpet, was surprised to hear that her co-star’s famous mom is engaged and said, “My mind is blown right now.”

Ryan and Dennis were married from 1991 to 2001.

“Plus One” is produced by Ben Stiller and also stars “Saturday Night Live” star Beck Bennett.
