Warner Music CEO trades in penthouse for townhouse

Warner Music CEO Stephen Cooper and wife Nancy just bought a $23 million townhouse at Billy Macklowe’s 21 East 12th, designed by architect Annabelle Selldorf.

In 2014, the serial trophy real estate collectors sold their former home, a penthouse at 1136 Fifth Ave., for $35 million.

It was reportedly the inspiration for the co-op of “Gossip Girl” character Blair Waldorf.

The new Village manse is a combo of two townhouses that were listed at $11.5 million and $12 million.

The mega-manse features 6,445 square feet of outdoor space. That’s bigger than an NBA basketball court (4,700 square feet), and almost as big as the Rockefeller Center ice rink (7,200 square feet).

According to Bloomberg, Cooper has a total annual income of more than $34 million and, in addition to his Warner gig, is a board member at chemicals firm LyondellBasell Industries, an adviser at his own firm, Zolfo Cooper, and a managing partner at private equity firm Cooper Investment Partners.

He’s been at Warner since 2011.
