A Hollywood crowd was in Flatbush this week to see Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz���s show, “Beastie Boys Story,” about the legendary rap act.
Spike Jonze, who directed the classic “Sabotage” video, was filming the show as a feature. An insider told us of the project, produced by Jonah Hill: “They’re looking to find the right partner for the film once it’s done.” Dubbed a “two-person one-man show about three kids who started a band together,” “Beastie Boys Story” involves anecdotes (including tributes to late bandmate Adam Yauch), skits, guests, archival footage and Jonze chiming in over an intercom.
Spotted at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on the first of three nights were David Byrne, CAA power agent Bryan Lourd and MGM execs Kevin Ulrich and Jonathan Glickman. We hear Lourd flew in to catch opening night then immediately headed back to LA for ongoing negotiations between Hollywood agents and the Writers Guild of America.
Ben Stiller was at the show as a guest star on Tuesday.
