Idris Elba has it all, but still wants to be Donald Glover

Idris Elba is at the top of his game these days. He’s an award-winning actor, a celebrity DJ and People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” — what else could he want?

According to the 46-year-old British hunk, it’s not enough.

“I want to be Donald Glover,” Elba told The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview. “He’s the man. He literally does it all.”

Elba may be referring to Glover’s stellar television, film and music careers. Glover recently picked up four Grammys at this year’s ceremony for his work “This Is America.”

Despite Glover’s recent accolades, Elba is well on his way to matching them. His long-running series, “Luther,” is now in its fifth season, and he’ll also star in the upcoming “Fast & Furious” installment, “Cats” opposite Taylor Swift and a new show on the horizon, “Turn Up Charlie.” Plus, he’ll DJ a set this year’s Coachella music festival.

“My career is more like a buffet, and I like it that way,” he said. “It’s what keeps me alive and interested.”

It’s not that Elba is taking on too many projects, it’s that he wants to seize every opportunity. His hardworking attitude is in part due to his father’s death in 2013.

“It was heartbreaking, but it also grounded the f—k out of me,” the father of two shared. “So, when someone tells me, ‘You’re doing a bit too much.’ I’m like, ‘I’m going to die one day. I’m going to take that last breath, and you know what I don’t want to be thinking when I do? I should’ve done that.'”
