Diane von Furstenberg confirms she hooked up with Richard Gere

The life of iconic designer Diane von Furstenberg is filled with glamour, but also has some juicy stories.

On “Watch What Happens Live on Andy Cohen,” the fashionista confirmed she had a romantic fling with Richard Gere.

“Well, it was a f–k,” the 72-year-old cheekily said while playing a rumor-debunking game, called “DVF or WTF,” with Cohen and fellow guest Julianne Moore.

The hookup was also mentioned in her 2015 memoir “The Woman I Wanted to Be,” where she explains Gere’s agent thought their being together wasn’t a good career move for him (via Vogue).

In 1980, the actor starred in “American Gigolo,” which was produced by Paramount Pictures, which was at the time headed by Barry Diller, DVF’s longtime love.

Although she and Diller married in 2001, they had an on-and-off romance that spanned decades.

“This man has been my lover, my friend and he’s now my husband, she told the New York Times Magazine in 2013. “I have been with him for 35 years. At times we were separated, at times we were only friends, at times we were lovers, at times we’re husband and wife, that’s our life.”

Meanwhile, Gere, 69, has been married to Cindy Crawford, Carey Lowell and current wife Alejandra Silva. The two welcomed their first child together in February.
