Lady Gaga debuts ‘A Star Is Born’-inspired rose tattoo

Lady Gaga‘s love for “A Star Is Born” is anything but “Shallow” — in fact, it’s beyond skin deep.

On Thursday, the pop icon, 32, took to Instagram to show off some brand-new body art apparently inspired by the film and created by tattoo artist Daniel Winter, aka Winter Stone. “Happy Valentine’s Day,” she wrote. “My spinal cord is now a rose.”

The fresh ink is a “toast” to the classic Edith Piaf song “La Vie En Rose,” a tune that holds particularly special meaning for Gaga: Not only does her character Ally perform it in front of Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine in the movie, but Gaga’s own cover of the song is also what convinced Cooper to cast her in his film in the first place.

Here’s hoping the tat will also serve as a good luck charm at the upcoming Oscars, where Gaga’s a top contender to take home the Best Actress statuette.
