Demi Lovato praises Bebe Rexha for calling out body-shaming designers

Demi Lovato is joining the line of people ready to support Bebe Rexha after the singer slammed the fashion industry.

Rexha, who’s nominated for Best New Artist at next month’s Grammys, took to Instagram on Monday to reveal that numerous designers declined to dress her for the awards show because of her size.

“A lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. Literally, I’m too big,” the pop star, 29, explained. “If a size 6/8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you … You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses.”

Demi Lovato, who has openly discussed her struggle with eating disorders, was quick to comment on Rexha’s post. “F—ing preach!!!” Lovato, 26, wrote. “Love this and you for speaking your mind and using your voice!!!”

Others stars including Neyo, Adam Lambert and Tess Holliday all showed their support for Rexha as well. “Know this feeling all too well,” plus-size model Holliday wrote.

And celebrities weren’t the only ones showing up for Rexha: Designers like August Getty, Elizabeth Kennedy, Sachin & Babi, Stella Nolasco and Charbel Zoe have all offered to make the “I’m A Mess” singer something suitable for the Grammys red carpet.
