R. Kelly under criminal investigation in Georgia following docuseries

R. Kelly is reportedly the subject of a criminal investigation in Georgia thanks in part to “Surviving R. Kelly.”

The Fulton County district attorney is looking into the singer and a mansion he previously owned in Johns Creek, Ga., reports The Blast. Kelly’s former home is featured in the six-part Lifetime docuseries highlighting his alleged sexual misconduct with young girls.

Last July, Kelly penned a 19-minute song in response to the numerous allegations against him.

According to the website, investigators have already interviewed alleged victim Asante McGee, who is featured in “Surviving R. Kelly” walking through the property describing seeing women held against their will.

In 2018, McGee told BuzzFeed, “R. Kelly is the sweetest person you will ever want to meet. But Robert is the devil.”

The police have also contacted Joycelyn Savage and ordered her to come in for questioning. While Savage has claimed she was with Kelly of her own free will, her family and friends believe he has brainwashed her.

The Blast reports that one of the charges authorities are looking into is false imprisonment.

A rep for Kelly did not respond to a request for comment.
