Bruno Mars drops nearly $500k on watches for his band

He couldn’t get 24-karat gold, so Bruno Mars sprang for 18 karats instead.

The “Versace on the Floor” singer, 33, started off the New Year by gifting his entire band, the Hooligans, matching Audemars Piguet Extra-Thin “Jumbo” Royal Oak watches.

“My boys continue to show the world what time it is, and a band that sings together blings together!” he captioned photos of the rare all-gold timepieces. Each high-fashion watch retails for $55,400, meaning Mars spent a whopping $443,200 on timepieces for the eight-member band.

Mars presented the gifts at the final stop of his 24K Magic World Tour in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. Each watch came in a commemorative box with the tour name on it.

The R&B singer didn’t need to splurge on an extra watch for himself; he already owns one that he regularly pairs with matching gold chains and eye-catching designer outfits.

It’s fitting that Mars would want to celebrate the culmination of one of his most successful years. The singer started 2018 by winning the Grammy award for album and record of the year for “24K Magic” and song of the year for “That’s What I Like.” He also picked up three other awards, for a total of six.
