Danielle Staub claims her marriage was filled with abuse and ridicule, and that’s why she’s seeking a divorce.
The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star alleged in her divorce answer and counterclaim, obtained by Page Six, that Marty Caffrey verbally and physically abused her. She also claimed that he verbally attacked her daughters as well.
Staub, 56, reported in her filing that Caffrey, 66, treated her with “extreme cruelty” in multiple capacities, including “repeatedly video and audio recording [her] without her knowledge during sex,” saying: “Plaintiff exercised control by threatening to expose it to the public unless the defendant did exactly what the plaintiff asked.”
She also alleged that he “repeatedly mocked and harassed [her] for being sexually abused by her father as a child.” She later claimed that he would bring up the abuse in public to berate and embarrass her.
“[Caffrey] exercised physical control and intimidation by holding [Staub] down and violently screaming derogatory comments in her face,” she added.
Staub claimed that he would leave her at places without money or a way to get home, a claim she previously made to Page Six.
“Plaintiff referred to Defendant’s relationship with her daughters as ‘a lesbian affair,’ purposefully to hurt Defendant by referencing incest and embarrass her about her childhood abuse,” she further alleged of his treatment of her and her daughters. “Plaintiff utilized disparaging, offensive, and threatening language toward Defendant’s children, specifically telling them to ‘leave [his] house’ and ‘get the f–k out and don’t come back.’”
In another instance, she said he repeatedly told all of the guests at one of her daughter’s birthday dinners that he would not pay for anything in an attempt to embarrass her. Then, he “spent the entire drive home terrorizing [her] daughter, yelling and calling her horrific names.”
She also detailed a terrible vacation, saying: “During a vacation to Anguilla, which was gifted to Defendant, Plaintiff repeatedly disparaged and harassed Defendant and her children. Plaintiff referred to Defendant and her children as ‘entitled c—s.’ Plaintiff purposefully embarrassed Defendant every day during the 10-day vacation. He would become incredibly intoxicated on a daily basis. On one occasion in Anguilla, Plaintiff became physically violent, pushing Defendant down, holding her arms down, purposefully physically restraining Defendant to the point where she became bruised.”
Staub further claimed that he believed her rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis wasn’t true, saying: “He refused to assist her with her medical treatment, causing her to attend doctors’ appointments and obtain painful injections without any support. Upon Defendant arriving home after the appointments, Plaintiff often demanded that Defendant engage in sexual intercourse.”
Staub also claimed Caffrey repeatedly threatened to cancel her health insurance — even after he “purposefully endangered” her by “exposing her to Clostridium Difficile,” a bacteria that causes colitis.
She alleged that he “disparaged and humiliated” her “by telling her that if she was unable to perform oral sex, she was ‘worthless'” and he “repeatedly exercised control over [her] by making her cook, clean, and care for the home while simultaneously berating her for not earning enough money.”
She also claimed that on multiple occasions, when Defendant would plan to have company at the parties’ home, Plaintiff would threaten to throw everyone out unless Defendant would perform oral sex and then compliment him and massage his ego in front of everyone.
Now, she is seeking spousal support and wants to restrict him from selling their marital home until an agreement is reached.
The reality star married Caffrey in a Bimini beach ceremony in May, but she was served with divorce papers in September.
Staub’s rep declined to comment.
