Calvin Klein chief creative officer Raf Simons stepping down

Raf Simons is out at Calvin Klein less than two years after he took the job as the brand’s first chief creative officer.

The Belgian designer is stepping down more than eight months before the end of his contract, Business of Fashion reported Friday.

The brand’s revenue fell short of expectations in the third quarter, with brand owner PVH’s chairman and CEO Emanuel Chirico commenting, “We are disappointed by the lack of return on our investments in our Calvin Klein 205W39NYC halo business and believe that some of Calvin Klein Jeans’ relaunched product was too elevated and did not sell through as well as we planned.”

Simons’ contract was to be up August.
