Donatella Versace talks pre-fall line with Michael Kors over dinner

Nearly three months after buying Italian fashion house Versace for a cool $2.2 billion, Michael Kors was spotted dining with the label’s chief designer, Donatella Versace.

The fashion tycoons gathered at Murray Hill hotspot Zuma NYC Tuesday evening for a business dinner, according to an insider.

“[Versace] sipped on a glass of red wine while she spoke about her new pre-fall 2019 collection with Michael,” the source told Page Six Style. “She expressed that she is nervous” to debut the new line in their upcoming show.

Versace will host its first-ever pre-fall runway show in New York on Gianni Versace’s birthday on Sunday, Dec. 2.

We’re told the Italian fashion icon, 63, was dressed head-to-toe in her own label, rocking a black and white printed Versace shirt, a black leather Versace skirt, a black and gold Versace belt and black Versace pumps.

“They discussed the future of fashion, mentioning that millennials are shifting to online shopping and that they wished Vogue had an online shopping component,” the insider said.

Versace also mentioned that she “loves how Versace as a brand reaches everyone — old and young, male and female.”

“She and Michael discussed her new line, what the new season will entail for fashion and different fabrics that she loves,” said the source. “She made a joke saying that she loves the ‘all-natural’ look.”

The pair dined on avocado asparagus salad, vegetable tempura and Japanese A5 wagyu beef (one of the priciest dishes on the menu) as they talked shop. They were joined by 10 other men and two other women.
